Raymond Davis: Hizb ut-Tahrir leads Hundreds outside Pakistan High
Commission London

Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain held a demonstration outside the Pakistan High
Commission in Knightsbridge, London on 19th March 2011 to strongly denounce
the release of the CIA agent Raymond Davis by Pakistan's rulers. Hundreds of
men and women gathered to condemn the treachery of the Zardari-Gilani
regime.

Rizwan Hussain, from Hizb ut-Tahrir's Pakistan Committee, chaired
proceedings. Rizwan said that Pakistan's rulers had committed the greatest
crime that a leadership could ever commit; that of betrayal, treason and
collusion with a foreign power. Rizwan said that there was absolutely no
doubt as to the guilt of Raymond Davis yet Pakistan's rulers had fully
co-operated and facilitated the handing back of this murderer to America. He
said that Pakistan's rulers claim that they released Davis under the Shariah
law of Diya or 'blood money' after the victim's family pardoned him is
deeply contemptible and risible. Rizwan said Zardari should be asked if the
Shariah allows foreign agents secret entry into Pakistan? Where was the
Shariah in allowing America to launch drone attacks and kill Muslims by the
hundreds in the tribal areas? And what about the situation of Dr Aafia
Siddiqui, does the Shariah allow these rulers to do nothing as America
illegally kidnaps and jails an innocent Muslim woman for 86 years he said?

Rizwan said how dare Pakistan's rulers even think of hiding behind the noble
Shariah as an excuse to hide their great crime of treason. They have failed
to even ask, never mind explain, what Davis and his CIA team were actually
doing in Lahore. They have failed to explain to the nation why it is that
hundreds of American spies like Davis have been given visas and are now
operating inside Pakistan. Rizwan said that these are the real questions in
the greater public interest that Zardari, Gilani and Shabaz Sharif have
failed to answer. These rulers he said are nothing short of hypocritical
liars who have sold everything to serve their masters in America.

Atif Salahuddin from Hizb ut-Tahrir's Pakistan Committee said that Pakistan
is the only so called American 'ally' in the world that is continuously
bombed and attacked by America nearly every single day. This was a master to
slave relationship in which Zardari, Gilliani and the Sharif brothers were
all responsible for releasing Davis he said. Where was the so called
'independent judiciary'? Where was Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudary in
bringing this murderer Davis to account he asked? Atif said that the
military leadership was also responsible for the release of Davis and had
failed in its duty to protect the people. Atif demanded that the Pakistan
Army move to remove these treacherous rulers whose only aim in life is to
slavishly serve America so that they can continue to sit in office and carry
on with their corruption. Pakistan's rulers he said had brought nothing but
humiliation and American sponsored terror to the people.

Mushtaq Raja, community leader from London, said that only the system of
Khilafat can save the people of Pakistan. The Khilafat he said would not be
afraid of kicking America out from Pakistan and would hold every single
American agent to account he said. The Khilafat would be bound by the
Shariah and would establish an accountable executive and a real independent
judiciary that would account the rulers without fear he said.

Mohammed Salim, member of Hizb ut-Tahrir said that the events in the Middle
East had proven that the time of these corrupt Muslim rulers was coming to
an end and we were entering a new era. Salim said that the events in Tunisia
and Egypt had proven that real authority lay in the hands of the people and
if the people of Pakistan wanted change it was within their grasp.
Pakistan's people need to move and come out on 17th April when Hizb
ut-Tahrir will hold rallies all over Pakistan in Lahore, Islamabad,
Rawalpindi, Karachi and Peshawar to force the Pakistan army to establish the
Khilafat – the only way to end these American attacks and bloodshed.

If they cannot fire the missiles at Gaddaffi, then they should not fire at all. The target should be Gaddaffi and nothing but him. Reagan missile nearly missed him; Obama missile shouldn't.

We need to consider placing some honest men at CIA to find us the accurate information. They have consistently provided false information to us perhaps to keep their jobs or appease men like Bush.  Have they been right on Iran in 1979, Iraq and Afghanistan in 2003 to Egypt r Libya?  Even on the day Mubarak resigned, they did not get it right. So nothing they get is right and we should not make decisions based on their information.

We need to guard ourselves from letting a few sadistic men the coalition to make Libya a play ground for their devious joys.   There should not be any room for collateral damage, our goal must be specific; to get Gaddafi.

We need to worry about our own; any protracted involvement will bring untold misery to us, the average Americans. We cannot handle budget deficits any more; we cannot hurt our own families at home. However, if we are smart, we can buy some game machines at hundredths of the cost of this onslaught and give it the these sadistic men to play and get their hate out, rather than destroy the people of Libya.

The pleasure of today's destruction is not worth the misery of tomorrow. We need to consider the opinions of the moderates along with the right and the left to have sustainable policies.
Mike Ghouse is committed to building cohesive societies and offers pluralistic solutions on issues of the day.

India is in violation of Geneva Convention in their treatment of the citizens of occupied Kashmir

Habib Yousafzai

At the time of the fight for freedom of India, the reverse was true, the Sikhs, Kashmiris, Muslims, Dalits, Christians, non-Hindus and Hindus who were fighting for the liberation of India from British occupation were considered to be fighting for a just cause. After winning independence from British rule, soon after they began to feel that they have been trapped in another kind of occupation. The Indian National congress leadership failed to fulfill their promises made with all minorities in order to win their support before independence. Now, these nations are fighting for their freedom, how can one call them terrorists?  This was the responsibility of the occupying Indian government to provide the security of life to the oppressed.  Since 1947, India has occupied Kashmir; atrocities have been committed against innocent Kashmiris, Pundits and Sikhs. It was their responsibility because they are the ones who are controlling the territory.

Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani on March 12, 2011 addressing the session 'Kashmir - What next' said "soon after the partition, Muslims of Jammu were asked to assemble at a particular place, according to eyewitness accounts, over five lakhs Muslims were massacred according to a conspiracy to make Jammu a Muslim minority region." He further stressed that "Even India's Home Minister (P Chidambaram) has termed Kashmir an issue of broken promises. The lingering of the Kashmir dispute has hampered the development of India which is the biggest purchaser of arms. Nearly one lakh people in Delhi are homeless and 25 crore people in India live below the poverty line. Kashmiris want freedom from India's forcible occupation. It is high time for India to fulfill its broken promises and give right to self-determination under the supervision of UN to Kashmiris. This is the only amicable and viable solution to resolve the dispute", he said.

India has posted over 700,000 armed soldiers in the occupied territory but has failed to suppress the freedom movement because the people despise them. The Indian government was committing atrocities and is still committing them at the present time just like an occupied force.  In their tenure, the following people  were abducted by the forces and killed, H. N. Wanchoo, Dr. Abdul Ahad Guru, Dr. Farooq Ashai and noted human rights activist Jalil Andrabi and Pir Hisam-ud-Din. There are so many other names that can be added to this list that were abducted and killed by Indian forces. In the16th session of the UN: human rights council, room xxii briefing on human rights of deprived minorities, 9th march, 2011, a 17 year old Aneesa Nabi appealed to the United Nations Security Council to locate her abducted father.  She addressed a seminar at Palais de Nations describing the gory details of how Indian soldiers killed her mother and severely injured her toddler younger brother. Diplomats pledged to contact the Indian government to help locate her father if alive.

I would like to quote the Hon. Congressman Dana Rohrabacher, who said in the House of Representatives of the United States, "As far as the Kashmiris, Sikhs, Muslims and other non-Hindu minorities are concerned, India is a Nazi Germany to them."  The fact of the matter is the Indian government has failed to win the hearts and minds of the Kashmiri nation.

As a matter of fact, the India Government is in violation of the Geneva Convention because they have failed to perform their duties as an occupant.The international agreement formulated in 1864 at Geneva, establishing a code treatment of the sick or wounded, prisoners and security of life and safety of the oppressed nation. There are now four Geneva Conventions, which were drawn up in 1949. And all of them have now been accepted by virtually every state including India. Therefore, it will be in their interest to leave Kashmir.

Besides, I am enclosing the following news item for ready reference to make the reader aware of the situation in the valley.

Stop behaving like occupying power: Brinda to GOI

'Kashmiris Outraged Over Denial of Justice'

AGENCIES

New Delhi, Mar 15: Advising the government of India to stop behaving like an "occupying" power in Jammu and Kashmir, CPI-M member Brinda Karat Tuesday said people whose children were killed in police firing in the state are outraged over "denial of justice".

Raising the issue during Zero Hour in the Rajya Sabha, Brinda said 117 people were killed in police action during the summer 2010 unrest in Kashmir but not even a single constable has been punished.

She said the government should "stop behaving like occupying people."

Four MPs including Karat had recently gone to Srinagar to attend a women's conference where the problems faced by the people of the state were narrated to them. The conference was organised by the Centre-appointed interlocutors.

She said there was "outrage" among people who said justice was not given to them.
Karat said of the 117 cases, only 37 FIRs have been registered and no independent inquiry was conducted in a time bound manner.

"Even today, young people are being called to police stations and threatened and detained. Women say that every time they enter universities, they are asked to show their identity cards. They are asking is it not their own country," she said adding that it was "militarization of the entire Valley".

Subject: RE:[Pakistan-Media]  What if Tsunami hit Karachi

Dear Friends:

The first thing to consider is what is Tsunami and how it is produced. Tsunami is a Japanese word for a huge ocean wave caused by a submarine disturbance, as an earth-quake or volcanic eruption. [i.e. an underwater earth-quakes due to seismic disturbance caused by an external force]

Earth-quakes can be caused by nature or these could be initiated by man, known ever since we started conducting underground nuclear tests. Both have their characteristic signatures recorded by seismic activity detectors. In the case of natural earth-quakes the seismic activity gradually grows in amplitude and at time T(0) it shoots very high decreasing in time. Whereas, nuclear test initiated earth-quakes have unique signatures, i.e. very little seismic activity till T(0), after which the amplitude shoots very high and gradually decreases over time.

During 2005, when a very huge earth-quake killed thousands in Kashmir and also was felt in Islamabad, where the Margala Towers building was destroyed and many people killed. An article in July2005 issue of Popular Mechanics magazine described an experiment conducted through an un-manned submarine guided by satellites, which left North Atlantic sea and travelled South-East, entirely guided by satellite. The submarine contained a tiny nuke known as “bunker buster” and at appropriate geographical coordinate, the nuke was remotely detonated. This was the most likely cause of a huge disturbance  at the geological fault that initiated the Tsunami, wreaking havoc in the coastal areas.  We recently observed the huge Oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, by BP due to unexpected chain reaction of mishaps that led to the world/s largest Oil disaster after  Alaska several years ago.

Basic Principle of Nuclear Reactors for Power Generation. The Power generating Reactors utilize the same Fission principle as used in a a Nuclear Bomb. The difference being that in a Nuclear bomb, it is uncontrolled Fission, whereas in nuclear reactor, the Fission is controlled by sensors that measure the neutron flux and this feed back controls a moderator which absorbs the neutrons and decreases or increases the amount of fission for continuous operation of the reactor in which the released energy in the form of heat is transferred to water to generate steam, which is sent to turbines to generate electricity. There are many kinds of Reactor designs, such as,

(1)   Magnox type of gas cooled, graphite moderated reactor fuel: natural uranium metal, and carbon dioxide as coolant.

(2)   Advanced Gas Cooled Reactor (AGR), in which the fuel is slightly enriched uranium oxide, coolant is carbon dioxide, and Graphite as moderator.

(3)   Fast Reactor: In this the Fuel is Plutonium and Uranium Oxide, Liquid Sodium as coolant, and no moderator.

(4)   Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR). The Fuel used is enriched Uranium oxide, and pressurized water serves as coolant and moderator.

(5)   Boiling Water Reactor (BWR): The fuel in this reactor is enriched uranium oxide, and water serves as Moderator and Coolant. [Current Reactors used in Japan and other countries designed by General Electric and Westinghouse]

(6)   Heavy Water Reactor to generate steam. In this the Fuel is slightly enriched uranium-oxide, Heavy Water serves as Moderator, and steam converted into water used as coolant.

(7)   The last is the Fast Breeder Reactor, which produces more fuel that could be diverted to make nukes. This type of reactor and neutron bomb were banned by President Jimmy Carter, trained as Nuclear Engineer, who foresaw the abuse.

Features of Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) Design: Water is also the coolant and moderator in  BW-Reactors,  but it is not pressurized, it is allowed toboil in the reactor. A BWR is, therefore, like a “nuclear kettle,” with fuel (enriched Uranium-oxide in zirconium alloy instead of a heating element. The steam passes from the top of the reactor direct to the turbo-generator.

A BWR is relatively simple reactor. It has no heat exchanger, and the reactor pressure vessel has to withstand much smaller pressures than that in Pressurized Water Reactor, and therefore has thinner walls.

The average estimated life of most of the reactors in use is about thirty years, after which they have to decommissioned, and become worse than a grave-yard. Bob Hope, a well known comedian, used to say, ”I can’t understand why people build fences around a grave yard, since no one wants to get in and no one can get out.”  The Chernobyl Nuclear Reactors in Ukraine, were buried in a huge Cement grave, and no one could go near it due to long-lasting high level of radiation surrounding it.

Pakistan’s nuclear power generating reactor CANNUP, is of a different design and is more than 40 years old. There is no way to stretch its life due to uncertainty about the condition of its internal stainless steel pipes, which over 40 years of neutron bombardment become brittle and can break any time to cause incurable damage and radioactive waste spill out.

The secretive Nuclear industry is like Mafia, and never tells the truth about the hazards. The new tool to cover up the lies in the arsenal of people who are chasing the money rather than caring about the safety, health, and security, is “Risk Analysis” Program, based entirely on laws of Statistics, without any consideration to the Physical/Chemical properties of Materials used in Design and fabrication of such systems. A former British Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli had no regard for statistics and said, “Lies, Damn Lies, and Statistics,” because one can manipulate the end results by altering the size of the data-sample.

The author saw it cause two serious accidents of the Space Shuttle, where NASA Engineers built a false sense of security regarding SAFETY, by brain-washing the management with the probability results churned out from “Risk Analysis” computations. And I believe that same happened in the financial down-turn of the Wall Street, by building a false sense of security by telling lies to the investors, entirely based on speculations and ignoring assumptions based on facts.

Pakistan has been lately flirting with the idea of installing more nuclear reactors due to pressure from Nuclear Mafia such as Areva, a big French Nuclear Conglomerate spreading its tentacles even in Pakistan. We have observed from Three major accidents (Three Mile Island, Chernobyl and Fukijima) that those who project Nuclear Energy as Safe and Green are nothing but LIARS (based upon their uncertain results from Risk Analysis computations of Probabilities. Pakistan is blessed with tremendous amount of Solar Energy, which can be exploited  for energy to improve the economic condition of every Tom, Dick and Harry in the city or a village. And this is the only VIABLE solution, including Political survival as a country which is already in the cross-hair for having pursued the ATOM for Energy and Security. We have seen the “Operation Iraqi Freedom,” as a smoke screen to defang Iraq from its nuclear ambitions, and now it’s the turn for Libya to pay the price for helping Pakistan monetarily to become a nuclear power (at extremely high cost and possibility of further chaos and Military conflict  like many other countries on the other side of the Zionistan- fence. Thus Solar Energy is only solution for Paklistan to meet its growing energy needs rather than wait for the Mana & Salwa to drop from the sky laden with Foreign Aid clouds.

Thus the answer to your question about the effect of Karachi being hit by a tsunami is that it will certainly produce a disaster of unknown dimensions since CANNUP  reactor is more than 40 years old and uses a more risky technology for Fission control.

a.       In the early fifties, surprised officials of the government’s nuclear weapons program discovered that radioactivity – cesium-137 and strontium-90- was not dispersing into the stratosphere as they had assumed it would, but was coming back to earth. To measure the unexpected fallout, Project Sunshine was established-but the project was kept secret.

b.      In 1957, a university report on the effects of possible nuclear reactor accident projected that, amongst other things, under maximum radioactive release conditions , 133,000 people would receive a lethal dose of radiation—and half of them would perish. The report was quietly buried.

c.       In 1972, the AEC projected that about 10 million pounds of plurtonum would be commercially produced in the United States by the year 2000,. One pound, if administered in finely dispersed particles to human lungs, is enough to cause cancer in the entire global population.

Press Release (for immediate release)
March 20th, 2011

World Wide Fund for Nature
conducts
Green Reconstruction & Recovery Trainings in Pakistan

The rebuilding efforts that follow natural or man-made disasters represent a significant and important opportunity to restore systems to be more environmentally and socially sustainable than what existed prior to the disaster. The sheer scale of international response led by humanitarian organizations offers a tremendous opportunity to rebuild communities that are healthier, stronger and more resilient while minimizing any negative effects their rebuilding efforts may have on the environment. Humanitarian and conservation practitioners, government officials, local communities, and donor organizations can take steps to ensure reconstructed communities are built back safer through actively addressing environmental sustainability, reducing risk and vulnerability to future disasters, and adapting to the effects of our changing climate.

To address the above, WWF in partnership with humanitarian, development and environmental partners developed practical field tools, methods, and strategies in order to integrate environmental sustainability within post-disaster recovery and reconstruction. The outcome is the Green Recovery and Reconstruction Training Toolkit (GRRT). The Green Recovery and Reconstruction Toolkit is a training program designed to increase awareness and knowledge of environmentally sustainable disaster response approaches.

In Pakistan, World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), in collaboration with National Disaster Management Authority of Pakistan (NDMA) and United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) is conducting two 3-day customized GRRT trainings targeting the housing and community restoration sectors from 21st to 26th March in Islamabad. The National Disaster Management Authority, Provincial Disaster Management Authorities, United Nations Development Programme, International humanitarian and development organizations, local non-government organizations and environmental partners, will be participating at these trainings.

The aim of the workshops is to reduce risk and vulnerability of communities by promotion and incorporation of environmental sustainability principles within the recovery and reconstruction activities through the GRRT trainings in Pakistan. This workshop will benefit humanitarian workers, conservation and environmental specialists as well as government officials involved with disaster response projects, especially in the areas of site development, construction, regeneration of livelihoods and disaster risk reduction. WWF hopes to conduct further trainings in Pakistan at the national, provincial and district level in future.

For more information please contact Mr. Sohaib Arshad on sarshad@wwf.org.pk or call at 0332 558 2246.
