Post Devolution: ILO hosting Decent Work Consultation

ILO Islamabad (21 Nov): The Government of Pakistan after the 18th Constitutional Amendment has      
devolved the subject of labour to the provinces. In order to identify priority areas for promoting      
Decent Work at the provincial and federal level, the ILO has organized 2-days tri-partite consultation      
(22-23 Nov 2011) to finalize its Decent Work Country Programme 2010-15.      

In this high level consultation, ILO's Team of Decent Work Specialists will provide technical support to      
the delegation of Government, Employers and Workers in Pakistan to fine tune their priorities for the      
next four years.      

The Ministry of Human resource Development and the Four Secretaries of Labour from the province      
of Punjab, Baluchistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh, with their technical experts, are participating in      
these consultations. The Delegation of Employers Federation of Pakistan (EFP) is headed by its      
    President Haji Mohammad Javed whereas that of Pakistan Workers Federation (PWF) by the veteran      
trade union leader Khalil-ur-Rehman      

The inaugural ceremony will be held on 22nd November 2011 at the ILO Office for Pakistan Sector G-     
5/2 Islamabad from 13:30 to 16:00 hrs. You are kindly requested to send your representative to cover      
this high level event.
